Are You Highly Sensitive?
Highly Sensitive People (HSPs) are often creative, thoughtful, caring, empathic deep thinkers who are easily overwhelmed because they process everything in their environment very deeply. Those who are HSP may experience some or all the following:
-
Feel overwhelmed by a long to-do list.
-
Find noisy environments chaotic.
-
Get “hangry”.
-
Alcohol might provide momentary relief, but then increases your anxious thoughts.
-
Reading or listening to the news is distressing.
-
Caffeine can make your heart race and increases anxiety.
-
Feel derailed when the unexpected happens.
-
Competition and being observed can cause undue stress.
-
Have been told they are “too sensitive”.
-
Avoid uncomfortable situations.
-
The energy of those around you easily rubs off on you.
Wellness Coaching for Highly Sensitive Women
How Can I Help?
As a highly sensitive woman, I know what it feels like to walk through life feeling easily overwhelmed, overstimulated and exhausted. I have experienced firsthand how meditation, gratitude journaling, time in nature, nourishing food and drinks, rest, movement, community and self-compassion can significantly impact an HSPs quality of life. I am highly attuned to the feelings and emotions of my clients. With compassion, I gently question clients to support their desired habit changes. Support is individualized based on the client’s needs, but often includes coaching sessions every 1-2 weeks, accountability texts/emails between sessions, session follow-up email with a step-by-step plan and a reflection email prior to our next session. A typical session lasts about 50 minutes.
